Vibrant Food State is an innovative company founded by Tania MacDonald based in Darlington, Co.Durham. We are involved in the concept of Food State nutrition and aim to promote this important development in healthcare. Our mission is to educate people on the increased benefits of food supplements compared to the more common types of synthetic supplements.

The experience and history behind us and our products stretches back more than three decades. The Food State concept originated from the highly respected food researcher Eric Llewellyn, in collaboration with Andrew Szalay, founder of the Grow Company Inc. Their original intention was to identify the most beneficial nutrients to support the work of the Bristol Cancer Help Center, and this ultimately evolved into the development of a wide range of exceptional food-based supplements.

This research developed further due to the close working relationship between Eric Llewellyn and Dr. Massoud Arvanaghi, the current CEO of The Grow Company. Dr. Arvanaghi continues to research a wide range of health issues, using nutrition, natural products, flavours, bio-fermentation, peptides, DNA/RNA synthesis, environmental and biotechnological products and toxicity. This research, and the evolution of the Food State principles allows people to improve their health and well being in a natural, holistic way.

FOOD STATE HISTORICAL BACKGROUND

The Grow Company, Inc. was founded in 1977 by pharmacist Andrew Szalay. He was educated at Hungary’s Szeged University and received his degree in 1946. This was also the university where the renowned Nobel Laureate Albert Szent-Györgyi carried out his groundbreaking research which led to the discovery of Ascorbic Acid, the chemical form of Vitamin C. It was never Professor Szent-Györgyi’s intention that ascorbic acid should be marketed as “natural” Vitamin C, and this formed the inspiration for Andrew’s research and the eventual breakthrough that led to Food-State nutrition.

Andrew always had a deep interest in people’s health, wellbeing and welfare, and his understanding of the importance of food nutrients compared to chemical isolates, led to the creation of this superior form of supplement. Andrew moved to the USA in 1956, and for the next twenty years he devoted his life to researching nutrition, and in particular how to emulate the natural creation of nutrients for the purpose of creating them in nutritional form.

His lifelong goal was finally achieved in 1977 when he discovered how to produce high quality nutritional supplements with the structure of natural foods. He did this by incorporating vitamins and minerals within a glycoprotein matrix of complex carbohydrates, proteins, bioflavonoids, lipids, and dietary fibre. This was the birth of Food State, a unique line of food nutrients and one of the most significant developments in the field of nutritional science. During the 1980s, Andy began to work with Eric Llewellyn, and between them they created a comprehensive range of nutritional formulas for use in a variety of health applications. Vibrant Food State is proud to be a new distributor of these exceptional products.
